A: Residential developments are required by law to meet the SANS10400 XA-2 standard which regulates how hot water should be heated. SANS standards are prescriptive by nature therefore compliance can be achieved by submitting a rational assessment outlining how you intend to meet these objectives. SANS standards can be met if enough solar energy is generated to heat hot water.
A: Geyser switches are monitored and managed by software and cannot be controlled by residents. The geyser controller ensures that minimum water temperatures are constantly maintained. Power to the geyser may be controlled by each resident’s distribution board.
A: The geyser controller prioritises solar energy to heat hot water during the day with grid energy being readily available to maintain minimum water temperatures at night or in the event of a cloudy day.

A: No, PV Smart can only be used together with our solar energy solution.
